​St Columba Falls is closed to ensure public safety.  It will remain closed until works to repair and stabilise the site are complete. 

There is a risk of landslip. Observe the safety barriers and signage in the area. 

It is expected the site will reopen before the summer season of 2025/2026. 

In the meantime, visitors are encouraged to visit Halls Falls and the walks at Poimena​.

From 3 June there will be works to upgrade the picnic area in Leven Canyon Regional Reserve ​.

The walking tracks will remain open to visitors during this time.

​​​​​​​The Allports Day Use Area and Campground will be closed from 22 April for upgrades to the site.

Lake Augusta Road and side tracks are closed to vehicles. The roads can be accessed for walking.

A boom gate 350m west of Lake Augusta Dam is now closed until road condition inspections deem suitable for opening. These inspections start in October.

Talinah Lagoon and Pillans Lake tracks will be assessed from the start of November to determine suitability for opening. 

CURRENT ROAD / TRACK INFORMATION:

• Lake Augusta Road (reserve section) to Lake Augusta Dam wall:   OPEN

• Lake Augusta Road - Dam Wall to Lake Ada Boat Ramp:   CLOSED

• Double Lagoon and Lake Kay Tracks:  CLOSED

• Talinah Track:  ​CLOSED

• Pillans Track:   CLOSED

This annual closure helps protect the road surface over winter and rainfall periods.

​​The Sawback Track is closed for the winter period from 16 June 2025​. ​

Reopening of this track is likely to occur early November but is subject to inspections determining if road conditions are suitable. 

The annual road closure ensures that damage to the fragile mudstone soils is greatly reduced.

Vehicle access to Adamsfield is still available via Clearhill Road (and the Morley Track).​

​​Works to replace the bridge at Walkers Creek will start on 10 June 2025.

​​Hydro Tasmania is commencing works on Edgar Dam starting 28 January 2025 until mid-2026.

​​​Public access to Pioneer Lake and Pioneer Dam has been closed until further notice.

An engineering assessment of the structural integrity of the dam wall has recommended that the area be closed to the public while a review is undertaken.

Warning signage have been installed. The public is recommended to avoid the area while investigations progress.

​​​​​Sarah Island is open for cruise boat tours only. The jetty which visitors use to access the island is severely damaged.

​The south-eastern walkway to the shipyards closed. This is as a result of damage from severe weather. Repair work has started. Completion of these works are subject to weather conditions. ​

​​​​​​​Wughalee Falls campsite within the Tasman National Park is closed until further notice. Alternative campsite Bare Knoll remains open approximately 400m beyond the Wughalee campsite turnoff. This Campsite has limited capacity and cannot be booked.
