Show more/lessMaria Island National Park will be closed to the public from 5pm, Sunday 22 June to 8am, Friday 4 July 2025. This closure includes all tracks and roads on the island. This for essential annual island maintenance and management works.
Access is prohibited during this time to ensure public safety.

Closed area: St Columba Falls State Reserve - track closures

Show more/lessSt Columba Falls is closed to ensure public safety. It will remain closed until works to repair and stabilise the site are complete.
There is a risk of landslip. Observe the safety barriers and signage in the area.
It is expected the site will reopen before the summer season of 2025/2026.
In the meantime, visitors are encouraged to visit Halls Falls and the walks at Poimena.

Closed area: Annual Road Closure - Lake Augusta Road – Central Plateau Conservation Area

Show more/lessLake Augusta Road and side tracks are closed to vehicles. The roads can be accessed for walking.
A boom gate 350m west of Lake Augusta Dam is now closed until road condition inspections deem suitable for opening. These inspections start in October.
Talinah Lagoon and Pillans Lake tracks will be assessed from the start of November to determine suitability for opening.

Track closure: Sawback Range Track - winter closure

Show more/lessThe Sawback Track is closed for the winter period from 16 June 2025.
Reopening of this track is likely to occur early November but is subject to inspections determining if road conditions are suitable.
The annual road closure ensures that damage to the fragile mudstone soils is greatly reduced.
Vehicle access to Adamsfield is still available via Clearhill Road (and the Morley Track).

Track closure: Ben Lomond walkway replacement

Closed area: Edgar Dam boat ramp and campground - Southwest National Park

During this time, the Edgar Dam boat ramp and campground will be closed.
Access to Strathgordon and Scott's Peak boat ramps remains open.
Camping at the Huon and Ted's Beach campground remain open.
During this period, there will also be short delays due to increased traffic along Scott's Peak Road.

An engineering assessment of the structural integrity of the dam wall has recommended that the area be closed to the public while a review is undertaken.

Incident: Sarah Island - some board walks closed

Show more/lessSarah Island is open for cruise boat tours only. The jetty which visitors use to access the island is severely damaged.
The south-eastern walkway to the shipyards closed. This is as a result of damage from severe weather. Repair work has started. Completion of these works are subject to weather conditions.

Closed area: Eastern Arthur range traverse – changes to access West Picton Road and Huon Track.

Show more/lessWest Picton Road (prior to Riveaux Creek) is closed due to the deterioration of three structures along the road. A 15-20 vehicle parking area has been created adjacent to the new closure.
Farmhouse Creek walking track requires an extra 7.1km (one-way) walk along West Picton Road from its closure prior to Picton River Tributary.
Mt Picton walking track requires an extra 7.2km (return) walk along West Picton Road and then West Picton Road Spur 1-2 from its closure prior to Picton River Tributary.
The Huon Track has been heavily impacted by a large number of tree falls that are making this difficult to traverse and we recommend that you commence your walk at either Farmhouse Creek or Huon Campground.
Both Farmhouse Creek and Mt Picton walking tracks remain open.
